
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
At Givebutter, we view diversity as an asset and have made a pledge towards diversity, equity, and inclusion. Below are a number of ways that we put these words into action.
Hiring and HR
- Advertise roles on job boards that specifically target minority groups such as Diversity Jobs, InHerSight, Diversity for Social Impact, and National Society of Black Engineers
- Standardize questions for each step in the interview process
- Use a third-party platform to eliminate biases in compensation planning
- Offer high-quality and standardized benefits for all employees, such as comprehensive insurance plans and generous parental leave that does not distinguish between primary and secondary providers and defines a 'Parent' in inclusive terms
- Offer specialized benefits for various interest and/or minority groups, such as Tech Ladies memberships
Internal operations
- Recognize various holidays, traditions, and customs on our company calendar
- Offer two floating holidays to fit people's personal beliefs or celebrations
- Conduct standardized bi-annual Performance Reviews
- Provide manager training to all people managers
Content and marketing
Trainings
- Givebutter provides annual trainings to address topics of harassment and discrimination, recognizing bias, and workplace inclusion
- Harassment and Discrimination Training: Givebutter requires all employees to take Harassment and Discrimination training annually through our PEO platform, Justworks (you can read about the training here)
- Managing Bias: Givebutter requires all employees to take a course in managing workplace biases annually through our PEO platform, Justworks
- Diversity & Inclusion in the Modern Workplace: Givebutter requires all employees to take a diversity course annually, provided by our PEO platform, Justworks
