With over 1.3 million accounts and growing at 30% a year, donor-advised funds are gaining rapid mainstream adoption. Despite the rapid growth of online giving, many donor-advised fund donors are still unable to participate in any online fundraising campaigns.Â
But now, thanks to the native integration between Givebutter and Chariot, empowering donors to give through a donor-advised fund has never been easier. You can accept DAF donations directly on any Givebutter donation form, fundraising campaign, or website widget!
By adding the donor-advised fund button to your Givebutter donation form, donors can quickly access their DAFs at checkout. All donors need to do is select their DAF provider, log in, and submit their request.Â
Plus, you’ll get real-time DAF donor and donation information. All of your DAF donations will automatically appear in your Givebutter dashboard with the donation details and relevant contact information, so you can connect directly with your DAF supporters through Givebutter’s email, SMS, and video messaging tools.Â
It only takes a few minutes to set up a DAF payment option on all of your Givebutter giving forms. The best part? No complicated coding!
Here's how easy it is:
Step 1. If you haven't yet, sign up for Chariot and create a free Givebutter account.
Step 2. Copy your API Key from Chariot into the Integrations tab in your Givebutter dashboard.
Step 3. You can now start accepting donations from the most popular DAF providers like Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, National Philanthropic Trust, Charityvest, and more on any Givebutter donation form or fundraising page.

Givebutter and Chariot are both completely free to sign up for and use. Chariot does charge a 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee for facilitating DAF donations in three simple steps, but you can enable the option for donors to cover these fees—which 95% of donors on Givebutter do when asked!
Excited to jump in but not sure where to start? We’ve got everything you need, changemaker!Â
We quite literally raised over 10 times as much money on Givebutter compared to last year’s event using GoFundMe. I can’t say enough how awesome this platform is for fundraising, and also how much fun we had using it.
